Breastfeeding Consultation

We offer the following opportunities for breastfeeding consultation:

• Individual Consultation
  available for you during the entire time you breastfeed
  -either at home or at one of our midwife practices
• Breastfeeding Hotline
  call our midwife Martina Parrish from 9 am til 7 pm: 0700 424 784 55. She will call you back. Please fill in the form below with your insurance number.

Individual Consultation during Postpartum Care

A midwife is available to give you consultation and support during the entire time you breastfeed. Women need assistance particularly during the first days and weeks after the birth. The state health insurance makes breastfeeding support available to you through the services of your midwife during your postpartum care. A midwife offers you this assistance during her home visits.

Our midwives are happy to consult you. Please contact us well in advance so that we can put you in touch with one our midwives. Group Consultation Would you also like to be a part of one of our breastfeeding groups for mothers? We offer you the chance to talk with others in a group setting about issues related to breastfeeding. A midwife is also available during this time to address specific individual concerns.

If you find yourself asking the following questions, then breastfeeding consultation will be helpful for you:

• How often should I try to breastfeed my child?
• How do I know if my child has had enough to drink?
• What can I do if I experience pain during breastfeeding or if my nipples are sore?
• I think that I no longer have enough milk.
  What can I do to increase my milk supply?
• When and how should I begin introducing solid foods?
• How can I best stop breastfeeding my child?

Breastfeeding and nutritional consultation by your midwife can also be covered by your health insurance even after the eighth week.
